Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN) is your partner in providing care this Flu season. We would like to remind enrollees about the importance of practicing healthy habits to help prevent the Flu, also referred to as the Influenza virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends yearly Flu shots (vaccine) for everyone six (6) months and older.
Flu activity is highest from December through March. Flu shots become available around September or October of each year at various locations. The CDC recommends getting a Flu shot by the end of October. There are several healthy habits to help protect against getting the Flu and spreading germs:
HSCSN enrollees can get a Flu shot by visiting their primary care providers. Enrollees over the age of 19 can get free Flu shots at all CVS pharmacies. If you have questions, please contact HSCSN Customer Care at (202) 467-2737.
